Snatch (2000)

Ok, so I sat down to watch this film and knew nothing about it. Apart from the fact that Jason Statham is in it. I think my dad likes his acting as we seem to watch quite a few films with him in.

Anyway. It is a crime thriller. So basically a Lads film.

Plot (from IMDb):

Unscrupulous boxing promoters, violent bookmakers, a Russian gangster, incompetent amateur robbers, and supposedly Jewish jewelers fight to track down a priceless stolen diamond.

The cast includes Vinny Jones, Brad Pitt, Jason Statham, Dennis Farina, Benicio del Toro and Rade Šerbedžija.

The only ones I really know are Brad Pitt and Jason Statham but my parents seemed to know a couple of the others.

It is apparently very similar to the film Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Now I haven’t seen this film either.

So basically there is a diamond that is stolen from a bank and everyone wants it and at some point everyone has it.

This isn’t a high-speed car-chase action film. It’s a fairly violent, well I say violent lots of people are killed but you aren’t shown all the guts and gore, film where all of the different characters are connected in some way.

The film didn’t suck me into the story and I won’t really consider buying it on DVD either.

It was good to watch but not the best film in the world.

But I must say Brad Pitt did make it easier to watch, especially as he kept on taking his shirt off. 🙂

That is my opinion but I think that is because I enjoy the action films more.

Nice review, this film sounds vaguely familiar, I wonder if I’ve actually seen it….or just heard about it. Hmm…

    • Haha, I get that sometimes. Someone talks about a film and I’m like, No idea, don’t think I’ve seen it so we watch it and I’m like, Actually, I have seen this film! Lol 🙂
